New Smeg dishwasher install Robina.

The customers Ecomax dishwasher had failed on a Thursday and needed a new machine for the weekend.

I installed a Smeg CW511MDA by Friday afternoon.  The customer is very happy with the Smeg machine and of course the speedy service of Gold Coast Commercial Services.

New Smeg CWC511C in Surfers Paradise.

Removed a Washtech M2 dishwasher and replaced with a Smeg CWC511C in Surfers Paradise restaurant.

The Washtech dishwasher was due for replacement, so we installed a Smeg CWC511C pass-through dishwasher.   The Smeg was a good fit for the popular and very busy Italian restaurant.  The Smeg dishwasher has multiple time settings which allow for quick cycles for the busy periods to keep dishes flowing without losing the quality clean.

If you want to know more about the Smeg dishwasher or arrange a no obligation quote call Marty on 0409728937.

WHAT A NICE JOB, FU MANCHU

I’ve seen many kitchens in my career and was impressed with the quality & design of this new restaurant kitchen on Chevron Island this week.  The kitchen was not completely finished but all the pieces of equipment & benches were in place.

The splash backs of the benching matched the profile of the equipment and was level with the spine wall perfectly, as seen in photo below.

All the services ie gas hoses are neat & correctly fitted.

The dishwasher tray path was made to fit the 500 x 500mm trays with no twisting of tray during the process of pulling the tray to the machine.  There is no chance of the tray falling into the wash up sink.

I’m sure the design of the kitchen will flow well & be easily cleaned.

I look forward to tasting the food soon.

Washtech M2c Commercial Dishwasher.

This is the first Washtech pass through dishwasher with a heat recovery unit. It’s about time!

This should fill a gap in their  range. Washtech have gone through a slight change over the last couple of years, going to electronic controls.

Washtec M2C

Washtec M2C

There has been a few issues but who doesn’t with a new range  but they have been sorted out now. ( I hope)

Heat recovery unit on a commercial dishwasher, what is it & how does it work?

It’s a device that uses the steam generated in the wash tank ( from the wash tank water 62 degrees Celsius & the rinse water 82 degrees Celsius) to heat up the incoming mains cold water to help reduce the energy required to heat the mains water to 82 degrees Celsius.

In general most dishwashing machines that use this process have the recovery unit fitted above the hood, a fan comes on during the rinse cycle, so when the hood is lifted the steam is drawn into the recovery unit to heat the incoming water & condense the steam back to water, which drains back to the machine.

Washtech have the recovery unit fan on through the whole wash & rinse cycle, which heats the cold water over a longer period. They have assured me that the wash tank will maintain its heat 62 degrees when used continuously.

I’m hopefully installing the first one this week. This will give me a chance to have a good look at how it’s put together.

The Benefits are?

This allows the machine to be connected to cold water ( so towards the end of the day, you’ll  still have hot water in your restaurant)

The machine doesn’t need to be installed under an extraction hood, which can cost thousands to install.

Will have more info this week.

The machine arrived on site today, we were replacing a Meiko dishwasher which was about 5 years old & had become uneconomical to repair.

The Washtech M2c has two elements in the wash & rinse tank, so it heats very quick!

There is easy access to clean the inner workings of the heat recovery unit & when the dishwasher is drained down, water is sprayed down & through the condenser, this will keep this area clean in between services.

Unfortunately the water isn’t heated before it enters the wash tank, so there is some delay whilst the water heats up to temperature.

Overall I think this is a good machine at a very good price.

Wexiodisk Dishwashers

WexiodiskMy first thought on this machine was “why is it so expensive”?

I was in Brisbane at a washtech training seminar & there in the corner was Wexiodisk pass through dishwasher, auto hood & steam extraction system.  It’s time to check this machine out.

I removed the front panel & put it to one side, instantly I could see why this machine cost so much.

The machine was built solid, there was only one rubber tube in the machine & this was on the was pump intake.

If you look at at all other machines on the market you have a wash pump & a rinse booster pump.  These are always joined by rubber hoses from the wash/rinse tank to the wash rinse arms.  These hoses are a weak link & are susceptible to wear, heat & leaking.

The Wexiodisk has stainless steel tubing & fittings to the wash & rinse arm, this means no leaks & hoses to change.  The water valves are all stainless steel bodied (no plastic).  It’s  just oozing quality.

The water inlet goes into a break tank, this is a physical air gap between the inlet water & the water in the machine. The councils love this.

All the maintenance is done from the front of the machine, this means you don’t need to remove the machine from the benching to replace door springs etc.

It comes with the option of auto hood & a heat exchanger.  This uses the steam from the wash tank to heat the cold water entering from the mains supply.

This machine will save you on water, electricity costs and you can expect to get 20-25 years out of this machine due to the quality of build and components.
